Archived article from Phoenix-Moñekyn World Press reporting the first instance of a Sbiskiut Walker outside of Terra. Geophysical reports indicate the potential of 4 to 7 additional Sbiskiut Walkers forming in mantle plumes detected in Jong-Bwaq Tundra, specifically in Walker Vale. Further study into these phenomena is ongoing.

Overnight, Phoenix-Moñekyn’s first Walker rose out of the Jong-Bwaq Tundra. Phoenix-Moñekyn FMC Battalion Spokeswoman Vargulf Icilla Ñga’xami confirmed the reports and advised the public against breaching FMC Quarantine Line.
The Walker was first detected in 3041 (12-6) by Phoenix-Moñekyn FMC Battalion sensors in nearby Monitoring Station 2044. Phoenix-Moñekyn Battalion has been closely monitoring its growth in collaboration with Rill Technical Institute. According to researchers, its rise is only the first step in a long process and to not expect the Jong-Bwaq Tundra Preserve to reopen any time soon.
With the Walker’s rise, Jong-Bwaq Command Chief HH. Ðorrakh Abing has requisitioned the 717th RMC Battalion to bolster security on the FMC Quarantine Line. According to Vgf. Ñga’xami this is for the protection of the public as they monitor the Walker.
“With all Sbiskiut Walkers, there’s a chance Darkling diaspora may be present,” Vgf. Ñga’xami told reporters in a press teleconference, “to protect potentially vulnerable populations, and the public from hazardous conditions, the Jong-Bwaq Federal Conservation Area is closed to the public and will remain so for the foreseeable future.”
Sbiskiut Walkers, one of three species of Walker, are both larger and longer lived than their Darkling and Wayward cousins. They can also carry small Darkling diaspora populations. Due to risk of transfer of communicable disease to a vulnerable population, and the hazards of titanofauna, Phoenix-Moñekyn Battalion are closely monitoring the quarantine line.
Following word from Jong-Bwaq Command, Phoenix-Moñekyn Governor Elli Vhatuda signed Executive Order 5012, closing access to Jong-Bwaq Preserve indefinitely and reclassifying it as a Secure Federal Site-Division 2. Trespassing on Division 2 Secure Federal Sites is a Class A Felony, and guards are authorised to shoot any trespassers on sight.
Ñga'xami told New Khimot Sun that over the next Epoch, they, in collaboration with RTI, will be closely monitoring the region both for the presence of additional Walkers, as well as their movements and behaviour “…in preparation for potential observation sites and reopening of the Preserve.”
Update: 16:41 13.4.6602 13-2: Phoenix-Moñekyn’s first Walker has been named Bearfist in honour of Major’s Wolf Bearfist (FMC-Elites), Oriflamme of the Moñekyn War.
